What is MyHealth Online?
A free web-based service that allows you to: schedule appointments
in real time, request prescription refills, update personal and
insurance information and view your bill. Appointments with your provider
can be scheduled online, 24-hours a day from the convenience of your home
or work computer. If you do not have a MyHealth Online account, click here to
enroll now.
What is an insurance authorization?
An authorization is an approval by your insurance company,
which is sometimes required before visits to specialists or procedures. Check
with your employer or insurance company to see if authorizations are required
before visits to specialists.
How can I get more information about my illness?
Go to the Health
Info button on the Web site. You will find links to various
internet sites that have been reviewed by our physicians.
How can I get a
prescription refilled?
Sign up
with MyHealth Online to request prescription refills or bring all your medications in their
original bottles to each visit with your physician. Check to see if you need
refills before each visit. You may ask your pharmacist to call the office refill
line for you. Please call about refills during regular office hours.
Prescriptions for controlled substances (narcotics, nerve pills, et al) can not
be refilled after hours.

What do I do if
I need an appointment today and my primary physician is not
available?
You may schedule an appointment with one of your
primary care physician's partners or one our our physician assistants. Your
insurance will cover the visit.
New
Patients
All new patients should arrive 30 minutes prior to
their scheduled visit to allow registration. All existing patients with
insurance changes, address changes, etc., should arrive at least 15 minutes
prior to their appointment.

How much time
does it take for the clinic to arrange a managed care
referral?
Please allow 72 hours for processing managed care
authorizations and referrals.
Do I need an
appointment for laboratory work?
Yes. This allows us to have
your medical record available and allows physician to order the laboratory tests
you need. The lab is open from 8:15 a.m. to noon and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Monday through Friday. Call the appointment desk at 704-355-5101 to schedule a
day and time.
Do I need to
fast before laboratory work?
Yes, for blood sugars,
cholesterol testing, and physicals. For other laboratory studies, fasting is not
necessary. Fasting means nothing but black coffee and/or water for at least 10
hours before the test.
How quickly
will telephone requests for prescriptions be handled?
Most
early morning requests for prescriptions can be handled by early afternoon.
Afternoon requests may take until noon of the following day for processing.
When should I
get a flu vaccine and do I need an appointment?
The flu
vaccine is usually given from the middle of October until the end of December.
